Best Jetter Nozzle for a 4-Inch Sewer Line: A Practical Guide
A four-inch drain needs a nozzle matched to the obstruction, your hose connection and the flow available at the jetter. Pipe diameter alone does not tell you which nozzle to buy. A plumber running a compact jetter and a contractor running a larger unit can be cleaning the same pipe with different equipment.

A practical 3/8-inch choice for a four-inch line
The KEG 3/8-inch Cleaning nozzle (0010 0004) has eight rear jets at alternating 15° and 25° angles and a catalog pipe range of 3–8 inches. Its companion 3/8-inch Traction nozzle (0010 0009) uses six rear jets at 8° and 12°, with a forward jet, and a catalog range of 2–6 inches. A four-inch line falls within both ranges, but each tool has a different role.

Working with a smaller jetter
The 1/4-inch Sewer Flush is offered for 4–8 GPM. Match the nozzle to the available flow and verify pipe suitability; attaching a larger hose adapter does not increase the pump’s output. If a compact machine cannot transport the debris, changing the nozzle alone may not solve the job.
Make the price comparison useful
Record jetting minutes, water used, cleaning result and subsequent service time on comparable work. Water use is operating GPM multiplied by water-on minutes. Faster work at the same flow can use less water; the result depends on the line and the complete setup. Compare a drilled model’s service requirements with an insert-equipped model’s replaceable parts before buying.
