ROI CALCULATOR

Cheap Nozzle vs. Replaceable Inserts: Run Your Own Numbers

If you buy a low-cost sewer jetter nozzle and toss it when the jets wash out, you already know the cycle: order another one, wait for it to ship, and hope it clears the line. A KEG nozzle is built to stay in service — when the jets wear, you swap the inserts, not the nozzle. Our campaign says it plainly: don’t change the nozzle, change the inserts.

This calculator does not assume anything about your operation. You enter what you actually pay for the disposable nozzle you buy today and how often you replace it. It compares that to a one-time KEG nozzle plus inserts — where insert cost per job can run as low as $1.50 — and shows your payback period and annual savings. If the numbers don’t favor switching for your workload, it will show you that too.

KEG nozzles are German-engineered and assembled in America in Spartanburg, SC. Inserts ship same day; nozzles ship in 2–3 days, free over $199. Steel inserts carry a 3-year warranty and ceramic a 5-year warranty, included.

Heavy users often replace every 2–4 weeks.
Prefilled: KEG Cleaning Nozzle 1/2" (steel). Adjust for your pick.
As low as $1.50 — adjust to your usage.
Optional: time saved per job

Our nozzles pass through on the first try; cheap nozzles typically take 3–4 passes. Set your minutes per pass to estimate time saved.

KEG: 1 pass.

How this is calculated (and what you control)

  • Every input is yours. We don’t assume your job count, your current nozzle price, or how fast you burn through one — you type those in.
  • Cheap-nozzle annual spend = your nozzle price × (52 ÷ weeks between replacements).
  • KEG year-1 spend = one-time nozzle price + (insert cost per job × jobs per year). Years after that are inserts only, because the nozzle stays in service.
  • Payback period = KEG nozzle price ÷ the monthly cash you stop spending on disposable nozzles (net of inserts). If a cheap nozzle lasts a long time in your shop, payback can be long or never — the calculator will say so honestly.
  • Time saved uses only our approved claim: KEG nozzles pass on the first try while cheap nozzles take 3–4 passes. You set minutes per pass and your labor rate; nothing here is hardcoded.
  • Insert cost per job defaults to the “as low as $1.50” figure. Actual insert list prices are higher per piece but amortize across many jobs — adjust the field to match your real usage.
