Scale removal should start with the pipe’s condition and the deposit, not a promise to avoid replacement. Removing material from a deteriorated line can expose existing defects, and inspection may not reveal the wall behind a thick deposit.

Define the objective

Distinguish loose buildup, adherent scale and structural deterioration. Record the accessible condition and what remains hidden. Cleaning can improve a restricted passage; it does not restore metal lost to corrosion or prove remaining service life.

Understand the tool mechanisms

A rotating water nozzle applies moving jets. A chain or milling system uses mechanical cutting elements. These are different tools with model-specific limits. Neither is automatically safe for a thin or damaged pipe.

Use exact product applications

KEG’s catalog includes Rotor scale applications and separate Micro/Turbo and specialty cutting equipment. Check the specific body, attachments, pipe range and machine requirements. Do not transfer a family’s application to every size or assume a drilled Rotor takes replacement inserts.

Plan assessment, removal and recovery

Use the equipment manufacturer’s process and a suitable way to recover the released material. Monitor the accessible condition and stop for unexpected pipe fragments, loss of control or evidence of damage. A generic pressure or one-pass promise is inappropriate.

Present the result accurately

Show the accessible cleaned section and remaining defects. Separate completed cleaning from repair recommendations. A customer should understand whether the work addressed deposits, left unresolved deterioration, or established that further assessment is required.
